DragonCon and MTV True Life
Dragcon was, as usual, overwhelming and bunches of fun. Each time I leave it, it’s with a mixture of relief and regret. Sometimes it’s just freakin’ tuff to take that many people; other times it’s a voyuer’s delight. We met up with some friends, shared a room with two out of town guys we know (yeah that was something, being the only woman in the room, but I staked out my territory and no one stole my bathroom time) and made good use of the food court while it was open. Bailey and I had purchased food and booze before heading downtown, and it was just a matter of lugging everything up to our room in the Marriott. Once again I missed some of the panels I wanted to see, and the parade too. Next year, I’ll do better (yeah, I said that last year too, sue me.)
In other news, MTV is doing a casting call for Cosplay Fanboys. Wonder if the DragonCon attendees know?
TRUE LIFE: I’M A FAN BOY
Are you obsessed with comic books, anime, fantasy, or manga? Do you like to dress up as your favorite character and attend conventions with other fans? Have you ever waited in line overnight for a book, movie, or videogame release? Do you have tattoos depicting your favorite brand or characters? Have you ever missed work, school, or other important events to engage in role-playing or cosplay? Are you misunderstood by your family or significant other because of it? Have you ever been told to “grow up” by someone important to you? If you’re an obsessed fanboy (or girl), MTV wants to hear from you.
If you appear to be between the ages of 16 and 28 and identify with any of the above, MTV wants to hear your story. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be sure to include your name, location, phone number, and a recent photo.
So you can apparently be older or younger, as long as you look like you fit the 16-28 page range.
